the king cole trio

everyone who has ever listened to radio has at some point heard the silky voice of nat king cole,but what some may not know is that nat started his career as a jazz pianist and a great one.in 1937 he first came on the scene with his first group on the decca lable,nat's mentor was the great[earl fatha hines]the group won the[best small conbo in the down beat poll]from[1944-1947]and influenced such later greats as Oscar Peterson,of course nat would go on to become world renowned as a vocalist but he was also a jazz master.
