JEAN MICHEL JARRE & M83 "glory"

latest release from the French synth legend and modern
French synth-pop outift M83....
i have one of M83's albums, its ok, i dont own any of JMJ's
material...
this is off JMJ's soon to be released latest studio album(dont know its title though)
but either way, this was a pleasant listen, much different
from the usual crap but i still dont think i would buy it....
would appreciate a bit of feedback off JMJ fan Jerome on this one
as to how it compares with his back catalogue....

Makes two of us. Jarre needs to go back to his 70's material.

he's just trying to remain 'relevant' in the world of modern music J-Man....
much like McCartney with the Rhianna/Kanye West and the getting people like Mark Ronson to produce for him...

i just dont get both JMJ and Macca feel the need to do this stuff, surely they dont lack the confidence and self belief in themselves to say:
"hey,im Paul McCartney..." or
"hey,im Jarre"...

There's an old saying - 'Stick with what you know' or alternatively 'Play to your strengths and not your weaknesses'

I am all for artists trying to break new ground. But that means really trying to do something different, not trying to do something to stay 'in vogue'. If he created a new album using 70's technology and approach it will sell like hot cakes. That's what his fans are waiting for - a return to the days of Oxygene (which I admit he did so extremely well with Oxygene 7-13), Equinoxe & Magnetic Fields. Aero was his last good album.
