Top 10 Albums of 2007

I just came accross an excellent list of the best electronic long-players of 2007. 2008 has barely begun so I feel it is still a good time to discuss the gems that came out in the past tweleve months. I have nine of the ten albums listed and agree with the list almost 100%. It comes from a poll on Resident Advisor.

01. Burial - Untrue [Hyperdub]

Personally I rank Coldest Season as number two for the year, but otherwise that list is very good indeed. What are others' thoughts?

The only one of those that I've heard is Untrue by Burial... I love a lot of electronic musicians/groups, but I don't really stay much in tune with the current stuff.

Then I suggest following that link to Resident Advisor. That site will keep you up to date if you want to. It has a fantastic weekly podcast that's well worth subscribing to.

Claro Intelecto - Metanarrative [Modern Love]
Ellen Allien - Sool [BPitch Control]
Heartthrob - Dear Painter, Paint Me [M_nus]
Mark Henning - Jupiter Jive [Soma]
Morgan Geist - Double Night Time [Environ] (Not released until September, but its "released" already)
Move D & Benjamin Brunn - Songs From the Beehive [Smallville] (This is the one I recommend the most. It's right up your alley)
Remote - Dark Enough [Kill the DJ]

As far as LPs go that is. There's tons of good 12".

I'm sure it's just a genre thing, but the majority of these I simply don't like! If these are the best of 2008 so far, God knows what the worst are like!! LOL

Skinny Puppy's latest album came out in 2007. Great, great album... Great tour as well. I was able to see them in Atlanta.

I'm sure its a difference of taste. I know you don't like most of the "dance" side of electronic music. Most of those fall into that category. Try these:
