Personally I donât much care for Christmas songs per se, I prefer traditional carols. Some that appeal to me â¦
James Taylor â âIn the Bleak Midwinterâ â¦
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qmtO6cebcU
Jethro Tull â âGod Rest Ye Merry Gentlemenâ â¦
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3JMcW1D69g - instrumental
Mark Lanegan â at least fourteen of the sixteen minutes of his
Dark Mark Does Christmas EP, which includes a great âWe Three Kingsâ, but particularly for his rendition of âCoventry Carolâ, acapella, which is just beautiful ⦠starts at 10.38 â¦
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhgfLvqp-xI, and his âO Holy Nightâ in which he extends his voice to a range that is quite unexpected, for him! â¦

Loreena Mckennit â always had a soft spot for âGood King Wenceslasâ â¦
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBpEw0DZ7ws
And in contradiction of all the above, and just for fun, Billy Mackâs âfestering turd of a recordâ, lol! His own words ⦠well â the characterâs words I should say, and it
is actually Bill Nighy singing ⦠from the very funny, feelgood movie,
Love Actually ...

my big problem with Christmas themed songs is that for eleven and a half months a year they are, overall, really irrelevant and feel wrong when I play them,
of course, there are exceptions....Band Aid, Lennon, Greg Lake, Paul Kelly, Chris Rea, Slade, Roy Wood, Elvis Presley, all of which I can enjoy anytime....

Forgot to mention Elton John - "Step into Christmas".
A fairly ordinary song by Elton's standards, but pleasant and danceable. It was backed with the amusingly titled "Ho! Ho! Ho! (Who'd Be a Turkey At Christmas?)"
