Maybe we could try this? A ‘heads up’ thread for forthcoming new releases that pique our interest? All in one place so we can find them again, lol! Aside from the more popular and better known artists, not every new release makes it on to the regular lists and I sometimes come across news of an impending release of less than mainstream status that’s in danger of slipping though the sieve of my aging mind (and does sometimes
); hopefully this will help to combat those lapses …
If there’s something new coming up that is of particular interest to anyone, for whatever reason – flag away, do!!
Today I came across the news that Al di Meola is set to release a new album,
Opus, due out 23 February. Definitely going to be listening to that one – looks as though he’ll be revisiting some of his existing work – no teasers as yet. Guess we’ll have to wait!
The tracklisting is:
- Milonga Noctiva: Wandering in the Dark (feat. Kemuel Roig)
- Broken Heart
- Ava’s Dream Sequence Lullaby
- Cerreto Sannita (feat. Kemuel Roig)
- Notorious
- Frozen In Time
- Escapado
- Pomp
- Left Unsaid
- Insieme
- Rebels (feat. Kemuel Roig)
A previous version of “Broken Heart” ...

Coming up next week or so - wanting to keep an eye on these ...
Joan Baez - Whistle Down the Wind - looking forward to hearing that
David Byrne - American Utopia - I predict another commentary! Curious as to what he's been up to.
Blackberry Smoke - Find a Light
And probably mid-year
Klaus Schulze - Silhouettes

Paul McCartney "the universe and beyond", supposedly a duet with Denny Laine on it from what ive read?!
Paul Weller "true meanings" , its going to be an acoustic album, very folky apparently
