NEW PIECE: Roger Eno - The Turning Year
#1
Oh my heart. This actually moves me to tears ... sublime. Isn't it fascinating - whatever it is that strikes such a chord? And yet it won't for everyone. Are there perhaps tribes of similarly resonating people?? I adore Roger Eno.

^Yes, that's what it is. A great depiction of the passing of time! Tree rings can tell a few stories.

yes, you are correct,
they tell the story, especially, of climate over the life of the tree...

Another one - "Bells" - this is what he has to say about it -

"The area in which I live is blessed with isolated medieval churches, many of which are open to those who wish for silence, such as myself. At  least  two  churches have  hand-pulled  bells  in  a set  of  three.  These  play  the  first three  notes of  a major scale.

I  wanted  a  simple  piece  to  appear  and  so  added  a limpid melody,  a  tune  you  think  you  could  have heard before but have not."

Not a single unnecessary note ...

Those strings are fantastic. Lovely piece.
