thought i would start another thread and see if it takes off:

the only rules are that the subject matter must be relevant to something that happened in music on this day in music history.

a few ideas of things to post in this thread (but limited to):
1:  a classic album release
2:  a #1 hit on this day in history
3:  anything else music related.

on this day in 1984 Paul McCartney's double-A sided single "pipes of peace"/"so bad" went to #1 in the UK, thus making him the first person to have a #1 as part of a group (Beatles), a trio (Wings), a duo (with Stevie Wonder) and as a solo artist on the British charts.
