34. "Drafted" - Camel, Nude - there are several Camel contenders - "Fingertips", "Straight to My Heart", "Spirit of the Water", and so forth and so fifth, but this always rises to the top of the heap!

35. "Southern Cross" - Crosby, Stills & Nash, Daylight Again ... I hear this quite a lot, I notice, and never seem to tire of doing so. Love the lyrics - they're incredibly evocative and the structure and progression of the song is inspired, IMHO. Several other moments of brilliance on the album too.

How fascinating - I'm finding out as I go along and listen, that some songs I thought would be right up there, just aren't. Either taste evolves, or certain tracks don't last the distance, or a bit of both I guess! And some don't work on their own, out of context, which makes this an entirely different proposition to favourite, or what one might view as being truly great albums.
This is a very recent addition and it's here because I won't forget it - quite brilliant, I thought ...

39. "Theme from Subway Sue" - Pavlov's Dog, Pampered Menial - David Surkamp's voice is probably one of the strangest ever in rock music, and is not everyone's cup of tea, but this album goes way back for me and made a huge impression. Incidentally, urban legend has it that this track is titled after a mondegreen - a mishearing of 'someday soon' which the band found funny and decided to keep ...

41. "Heavy Horses" - Jethro Tull, Heavy Horses - so few lyrics as smart and as descriptive as these ... simply outstanding, even if Ian Anderson did have the remnants of a cold at the time!
