Lily Allen leads the field in the BRIT Awards 2010 nominations which have been announced this evening (January 18).

Robbie Williams, Dizzee Rascal, Pixie Lott, La Roux and Florence And The Machine are also up for multiple awards.

Allen is up for the British Female Solo Artist, British Album (for 'It's Not Me, It's You') and British Single (for 'The Fear') categories.

Florence And The Machine, aka Florence Welch, is also up for three - British Female Solo Artist, British Album (for 'Lungs') and British Breakthrough Act.

Friendly Fires are nominated in the British Breakthrough Act and British Group categories. Doves, Kasabian and Muse are also nominated in the latter category – along with JLS.

Animal Collective are nominated in two categories – International Breakthrough Act and International Album (for 'Merriweather Post Pavilion').

This year's event also features the most memorable BRITs Performance Of 30 Years award, to mark the event's anniversary.

The ceremony takes place in London's Earl's Court on February 16. As previously announced, Robbie Williams will pick up this year's Outstanding Contribution To Music Award on the night.
