RICKY NELSON "the ricky nelson singles album:, cd,1979.
used to own this one on cassette, but the tapedeck decided to eat it and spit it out many moons ago...so i was glad when i managed to find it on cd the other week...
Ricky had a string of classy hits between 57-63, his career then took a bit of a tumble until the early seventies, tumbled again and revirved itself a bit in the 1980s.
i wasnt aware this guy had some 92 US charting singles over his career, so really quite prolific...
this one centres on the hits from that initial five or six years of chart success, and rightly so as they were his glory years...
for those who have never heard Ricky, a lot of his stuff was in similar vein to Everly Brothers IMO,just without the harmonies...
some great songs on here from one of pop's first real 'teenage idols'..
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

“Sgt Pepper did its thing it was the album of the decade, maybe the Century.
It was innovative with great songs, I’m glad I was on it but the ‘White’ album ended up a better album for me.” Ringo Starr
