I just started a new band with some of my friends, was wondering if you guys had any tips for us. We are in the process of writing a song. Any tips for lyrics? Thanks for the help

You just said it. YOU are in the process of writing a song. So write it. My tip for you is to start working on it and stop looking for someone else to do it for you.
Had some lyrics up here but no-one decided to take up on it so I dumped them.

By the way Mr Music Head where do you hail from i.e. not where you are now but your hometown. You seem to be a very philosophical character. Dig the quotes. Many a true word spoken in jest!

Many a true word spoken in jest! I was born in Indiana, raised in Ohio and moved to Kentucky after my military service. Have called it home ever since, even though I had employment in both Florida and Massachusetts. Retired now and moved back home. I won't be leaving again. btw, no offense taken so don't get me wrong. Interested to see if you are equating where I am from to being philosophical. We have education in all parts of our country now. Yep, we even decided to let them little colored kids learn sumpin' I think being philosophical comes more with age than your stature in life. Brains absorb things over the years, and some of it sticks, like common sense. Philosophy is common sense.

I just like to put a physical place to a name. We all seem to exist in this electronic ether nowadays. Nothing at all to do with education/philosphy etc. Just curious.

Write what you feel in your soul, write about the way you see the world, what touches you, what is important in your life ..........................t and do it in a way that shows you enjoy the music and writing for what it is not what it could be then do it................if not quit!
