Beatles on i-tunes
#1
the beatles sold very well on itunes in their first week there.

2 million individual tracks sold, biggest seller was 'here comes the sun'
450,000 albums sold, biggest seller was 'abbey road'
119,000 copies of their digital boxset containing all their studio albums were also sold.

i also noticed this week that 10 beatles tracks made the UK singles charts between #40-100,
the highest placed beatle track there was 'hey jude' at #40.
not sure if the 'red' and 'blue' albums were sold on itunes but they also made the UK charts this week,as did the new re-issue of 'band on the run'.

amazing isnt it? the beatles enter another medium to sell music and keep on sellingCool

as a footnote when Led Zepplin went on sale on itunes they sold 479,000 albums in their first week.
its not only 'golden oldies' that sell huge quantities of albums on itunes in their first week, the new Taylor Swift album sold 300,000+ units and Eminems 'not afraid' single did the same(approx 300K+)

I have no Beatles on my ipod - some day, maybe.......( I have some painfully hip band who can't really sing or play their instruments that I need to listen to first )

With the Beatles. I can't say it was my favorite album, I didn't think the lyrics were very put together. But I'm still happy I bought it(:
