It's funny how well you can remember these things ..............I can remember where I was , what I did and many details of the day.
It was really strange , The news reached us very late in the evening ....................right in the early hours............at first I thought it was not true but every radio station on the dial was playing Lennon tracks.
I also remember buying a copy of every paper on the news stand so that I could have something of the day..............many years later my father confessed that he had thrown them all away..................
Odd it was only on that day that I realised that the track Come Together began with the words " Shoot Me ".
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!
It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary

i had just bought '(just like)starting over' single the day before he died,it was that song that turned me on to Lennon, and like you all we heard on the radio that day was Lennon/Beatles songs, i dont think his death really affected me at the time...i was only 13, i think George's death affected me more.

I was around 21 when Lennon died so I was the correct age to take note..........I had grown up with the tail end of The Beatles and Hell legends like that were still young and did not die.
Micheal Jackson made no real impression on me I suspected he would not live to be an old man.
Cash and Elvis made big impressions !
