Speaking of people who can flat-out flatpick....
I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of the first Watson family album. ( I think it's the first)
Specifically, I'm looking for the cover, not the tunes which I have as mp3s.
Thing is.... I can't find this album cover any longer.
On the cover, a young Doc is clutching his guitar while a woman and a young girl sit out in front of him. every copy Ive seen lately has a 'new' cover...an old photo, but not the original.
I saw this record in an LA record store about three years ago and didn't grab it. Since then I can't even find a picture of it anywhere.

Nope, that's not it. The little girl is sitting out on the step. Doc is accidentally sort of giving 'the middle digit' on the neck of his guitar.
This album cover has been around for over forty years. It just started to disappear recently. Oh well. Someone must have a physical copy of it. It is a very influential album and all...
Weird and disturbing when stuff like this happens. What else is missing or changed that we haven't noticed?

Negative. You are not going to find it online, I looked for months. It's gone, bought up en masse or in the process of being erased!
Seriously. You can't miss it - Doc looks thin and craggy and is displaying a middle finger clearly on the neck of his guitar. The woman looks very intense and so does the little girl sitting on the step. That's it, they are trying to make that photo disappear, otherwise it would be online.
Seriously. Really. I'm spooked.

There is nothing you can't find on line really
Some collector will want it and will have a picture, someone who owns it will want to say so or sell it.
I have seen the "Holy Grail"l of collectors items on line ( and in the flesh! or vinyl in records fairs and from experts)
You just have to know where to look and what to type into what
Further I have done some research and I believe that what you found was some form of reproduction reissuepossibly bootleg, which is why it is not easy to find again.
I can find eference to the original record archieves showing what looks like a typical sleeve of that time with good evidence that this is from the time of release from that era............It is being documented as an historical record of the time and a copy has been put on archive to be preserved for future generations...............now someone like that could be wrong but, it don't have the picture you talk of that is from yet a later reissue or copy and is also documented but seems dubious as to whether or not it is a legitimate copy !

I've come across this before where relatively obscure albums that I used to own can't be traced anywhere over the web.
Like Griff says, it's out there somewhere...

Out there? It sure was- for the last fifty years! Where is it now?
S'not a joke - it's the cover photo that is the issue.
If this has disappeared... what else has?
I know for a fact that entire movies have disappeared, and not by accident.
