just as the world should never forget The Holocaust of WWII, we should never forget 9/11 also.
so on this tenth anniversary of the most senseless attack against civillians please spare a thought for the survivors, famillies of victims and the continuing struggle by soldiers on the front lines who fight against 'terror' everyday.
this is not a war against Islam or the Islamic world but a war against those who hide behind religion to justify their slaughter of innocence everywhere, including the innocent souls in their own countries.
WHEN WILL WE LEARN TO LIVE IN PEACE ON THIS LITTLE ROCK REVOLVING AROUND OUR LITTLE STAR IN OUR LITTLE SOLAR SYSTEM,IN OUR SMALL GALAXY, IN THIS VOID WE CALL THE UNIVERSE!!!

I'm trying to come up with the words to explain or to teach my kids about what happened that day on this 10th anniversary. They know a little but I want them to understand why I'm hanging a flag today and why the country is so sad.

Now we have Mahatma Crazy Horse as well. Man this site just keeps getting better and better. Jokes aside - I agree with your statements CH. For too long religion has been the tin shield the nutters have hidden behind. ALL religions. What was that Steve Hackett song called again - oh yes - 'The Fundamentals of Brainwashing'. Nothing wrong with spirituality, but religion is just the commercialisation of man's natural spirituality - which existed long before we figured out how to read & write. End of sermon. A Scottish friend of mine who follows some Indian guru type once said to me - remember the religion always comes after the man. i.e. you have a decent man that tries to do the right thing and then the money-men and the power freaks move in to capitalise on his works. Who runs one of the biggest credit companies in the world? You guessed it - the Vatican. Enough said - Amen.

A lot of heartache and somberness today. This horrific tragedy affected all nationalities ...I saw casualties listed as far away as Australia who were in the towers that day ten years ago.

I just heard Paul Simon playing his acoustic guitar singing Sound of Silence at the 9 11 memorial service in NY..... absolutely beautiful yet haunting at the same time.

Most appropriate piece of music. Probably my favourite singer/songwriter. An absolute magician with words.

OK final post for the day - I was wondering why it is, when we see all the mayhem in the world today, the violence and the senseless slaughter that we still buy our kids guns, cowboy outfits and video games where the main purpose of the game is to kill something. Surely if we want the world to change we have to start with ourselves. Food for thought!

But, you know something? As a native New Yorker, who has friends who did, and some who did not make it home from work in one of the Trade Center Plaza buildings that day, this is way over the top. Too much like propaganda. Taps and flags at half staff would have been nice. But then again, we in the US have let our nation's motto become "Anything for a Buck", so if there is any cash to be made from 9/11, some have been making, and continue to make it.
Is it Fascism yet? Just askin'.
