Not being from the UK, I have to ask, what is a "rubbish Fencer?" I couldn't even get a close match through Google, so I must know...
I also should admit I have always really liked the material Maiden did with Di'Anno, and saw him front the band a few times, and he was never sloshed out of his gourd as far as I could tell. That said, the Bruce years are still their best IMHO.

I also liked the first two albums with Di'Anno but I really like Bruce Dickinson as the "air raid siren" shot the band into the next level and they produced so many good albums. He also does a hell of a great job singing the older stuff. A Live favourite for me is "Phantom of the Opera".

Rubbish Fencer = He's terrible at fencing (the sport with a foil not the Saturday afternoon chore with a hammer)

why is this debate even happening

I'm not even a fan of this band and I know that that other loser isn't even fit to wash Dickinson's underwear. Why explain, it's objective

Dickinson has been ranked in the top 10 British fencers (sword-fighty sport thing).

Ahh, fencing. So the slam was literal. I learned something from you today. Thanks!

Why ask why? You got something better to do on a Saturday. I mean, you are on a music forum site, not out doing things in the real world. I am killing time at the end of my work week, while eating lunch. BTW, you do know that alcoholism is a disease, right? Just askin'.
