There are some pretty good movies telling the story of some of the best known musicians and artists. I am interested to see more.

mile:
I just watched
'Nowhere Boy' telling the story about the early years of John Lennon. An interesting story and I really didn't appreciate the suffering he went through during his childhood. Recommended viewing if you haven't already seen it. You get to see how he choices his path into music and the first meeting with Paul Mccartney.
What other decent films are out there? I can think of
'Walk The Line' about Johnny Cash. Another good film.

Also watched 'What's Love Got To Do With It' obviously about Tina Turner. Another interesting film.
I will check out your suggestions MH. Thanks

The Buddy Holly story is excellent
Try Backbeat for the early Beatles.
Imagine shows a good snippet of John Lennon's life
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's the strangest elation

The first one that sprang to my mind was Walk the Line about Johnny Cash. I like that movie.

I'd second MH's recommendation for Coal Miner's Daughter with the brilliant Sissy Spacek playing Loretta.
Also, Clint's Charlie Parker biopic, Bird, featuring Forest Whitaker in the title role, and Diana Ross in the Billie Holiday movie Lady Sings The Blues.
Again, these two are quite old.
