i love Green Day because they have the same attitude on and off stage like The Clash...
their music is full of anthemic type tunes and choruses like them also...
unfortunately, ive never seen them live, would love to do so...
their "bullet in a bible" live bluray/dvd is brilliant, one of the best live shows i own!

Just because people start to like you and you become "famous", this does not mean you are a sell-out. Like you said, there's nothing wrong with being successful. I like to think that a musician's "success" should be based on how many people they are able to reach with their music. If you are making great punk music, why would you NOT want people to hear it???

You are so right darkhorse91. The energy at a live punk show is the most invigorating thing I have ever felt! The sad thing is many people in the punk rock community want to keep it small and secret and I will probably never figure out why people feel this way.

I get what you're saying, but honestly, feeling that way is kind of self-centered, and has nothing to do with the artist. If the art/music/movie/etc is good...it's still going to be good when presented to a larger audience. I'd rather see a great band with 50,000 people than a crappy band with 5.
