^He's been releasing a new track every full moon since January 2023. By the time the album is finally out we'll have heard them all - bright side and dark side mixes of each as well. I've posted some of them further up the thread^^.

This is June's - there's something infectious about this one ... have to say, he is very good at remaining relevant while retaining a signature sound ...

Moondog resurfaces! The Ghost Train Orchestra along with Kronos Quartet and various guest artists are presenting, in an altered (while not unrecognisable) guise, the music of Louis Thomas Hardin, aka Moondog, aka the Viking of 6th Avenue. Fascinating character.

The Ghost Train Orchestra is a kinda cool concept - they are "a large ensemble based in Brooklyn and founded by Brian Carpenter in 2006. The group is known for their unique re-imaginings of under-appreciated and often obscure composers. They have recorded and performed extensively in NYC and beyond. They have released four albums, each one critically acclaimed for its originality and vision."

I listened to the original Moondog version as well as the new one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MhwjtkyI2w). I think he'd have approved, but what do I know? I have mentioned him on the forum before (https://www.music-discussion.com/showthread.php?tid=19254&pid=150028#pid150028) - found it interesting that contrary to appearances, which would seem to indicate extreme flakiness, everything he did was notated and organised. There's a certain charm about it all. I look forward to hearing the album - Songs and Symphoniques: The Music of Moondog

Another one from Roger Eno in the works - The Skies, They Shift Like Chords.

The only track with vox, apparently - his daughter, Cecily ...

A YT video that popped up in my feed – the light went on when I listened – it was a cover of Tim Buckley’s “Phantasmagoria in Two” (the original of which is a strange plinkety sounding song that I have always liked the oddness of, for some reason). This new iteration is Mick Harvey (ex Bad Seeds and Birthday Party) and Amanda Acevedo, a Mexican singer. They're covering songs that were never intended to be duets and with a few originals thrown into the mix as well. I’ve listened to the four that are available to hear (album is due out September the 8th and titled Phantasmagoria in Blue).

Not crazy about the Pat Benatar one, “Love is a Battlefield”, which just doesn’t fit being done in a dirgelike fashion IMHO, but I did find the others somewhat beguiling and different. And I realise that they are quite old songs, (the others) so far – mid-sixties, early seventies ish. I will listen to the whole album once it’s available.

This is clip about the project … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-BzRoW7QrI

“Phantasmagoria in 2” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjrinnEZ8Bc – crazy sculpture garden in the video – Frogner Park, in Oslo.

Tim Buckley – a live version from his fantastic London concert - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi1vySwxxIY

“Love is a Battlefield” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVBm2hjzCho

“Milk and Honey” – written by Jackson C Frank (also recorded by Sandy Denny and Nick Drake) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVBm2hjzCho

“Creators of Rain” – originally by Ian & Sylvia from what I can tell! Not enough info available on the whole thing yet ...

Steve Hackett has a new concept album in the works - releasing on 16th Feb 2024. Will be keeping an eye on that and very much hoping it will pass muster! No teasers yet - it's basically autobiographical - The Circus And The Nightwhale - https://www.loudersound.com/news/steve-hackett-to-release-first-new-concept-album-for-48-years?fbclid=IwAR2bcbchKX43ZCwURdZkInH0QBjqj9J7u1vCc94AqFiHZWM9AT6Cj0CKK3s

Neil Young has an album out in December, it is apparently an album of acoustic reworkings of some of his back catalogue favourites.
