Because I'm awesome. Because I'm so elitist I listen to stuff most of you wouldn't even think about listening to.

Have any of the postings you have read, made any difference to your listening patterns?

No.

Have you ever read something on MD that has changed your view of a band/artist ?

What albums have you read about on MD, that have tempted you to listen to the thing yourself?

What artists have you found out about on MD that you have gone further with?

Thanks to trbc08 I've gone further with Naked City and I exchanged some albums with Jon as well. That's pretty much all.

The answer to the last one pretty much negates some of your no's.
You just don't want to admit you are influenced, but we all are.

In what ways does that last one necessarily negate my no's? My listening patterns haven't changed (why should they?) and so have my views on bands and artist. For views to be changed one needs to have views on them beforehand which pretty much wasn't the case with the stuff Jon gave me. And about the artists I've found out and gone further with: I just told Jon to drop anything he thinks is good ('drop' because we did this via 'dropbox'). That kind of eliminates the possibility of consciously selecting an artist or band that I want to go further with.

I didn't find out about Naked City here and going further with them didn't change my views on John Zorn, Yamataka Eye, Tzadik records or whatever is associated with them.
