How will rock n' roll be remembered?

thats good trace ,my son is into everything from classical to the keiser chiefs and m & m and he is taking grade piano lessons at school now so luckily the youngsters do have hope

TraceNspace Wrote:OK well that's pretty terrible but there is hope! Today I caught my son singing a long to Joe Jackson in the car. It was a cool family moment when we all sang "Is she really going out with him??!!" and he loves Elvis and some others too. I'm hoping to raise a kid with at least some interest in real music.

Forget about him though. I inspired my dear friends 16 year old daughter to start a record collection. I took her record shopping with me. I tease her endlessly about bands she should know and slowly but surely Nicki Minaj is taking a back seat! So I feel like not all hope is lost.

I would say that Rock and Roll Music was the genre that has influenced all genres of all kinds of music. Everyone in all genres use this music in some sort of way.

I often wonder the same. For instance, if you are 25 years old right now, will the classic rock songs being played at bars in 40 years still be "living on a prayer", or a song that is only a few years old, or maybe even created in 5 years?

Welcome aboard MD, HumanFankind ! ...^ Exactly my point.....what rock songs or bands will survive for centuries like the classical music composers have done ?
IMHO, The Beatles might ...are there really others ?...I'm thinking great songs with a great melody that have a chance to remain in some form or another .

The technology will determine where the music goes. I think rock n roll as we know it will largely be forgotten - a blip on the radar of musical evolution.
