Luther Allison Solid Bluesman. Taken under the wing of some big stars, was bigtime in Europe (living and working in France for 20+ years) and came back to serious acclaim, has a terrif Bluesman son (Bernard Allison). It's never wrong to put on one of his discs--the only poor disc in his catalog is a misbegotten effort on Gordy Records.:

I'm sure he was metioned before but Rory Gallaher was my favorite. Johnny Winter was hard to beat as a younger guitar slinger.
