EURYTHMICS "ultimate collection" cd, 2005:
nineteen track career spanning compilation....
I guess I took them for granted back in the day because,
it wasnt till i listened that I fully appreciated all the great singles they had back in the day...
whereas so many of the UK synth-pop groups of the day were totally one dimensional, these guys,
well, a guy and a gal to be more precise, were three dimensional with their music, as they encompassed
and absorbed all styles to adapt into their arsenal...
such is the greatness of Ms Lennox's vocals that even Aretha Franklin couldn't blow her out the water
when she dueted with her on one track....
so, seventeen hits on here, plus two songs written and recorded especially for this release, and the two new ones
fit in well with their back catalogue, im just thankful that their horrid "sex crimes (1984)" was not included on this release...
looking forward to the Annie Lennox solo compilation coming up at some point over the next few days, will be interesting to
see how it stacks up against the Eurythmics greatest hits package!
was a tough choice to pick one track to post here but after whittling the tracks down I ended up with "there must be an angel..."
and this one:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
