Maybe so but she wouldn’t have been alone in that either through using the wrong drugs or wearing out her vocal chords (she had a habit of screaming beyond what would have been healthy in the long term.)
Not to worry, I still have all her original LP’s in mint condition to enjoy. Some of the early amateur recordings made in night clubs are way up on my favourites list. So, I’m glad I live in an age where it’s possible to immortalise an artist in that way when a high percentage of today’s commercial releases I’m happy to never hear again.
