only thing of theirs i made it all the way through since their fourth album.
i enjoyed their slower tracks on this album but its still not enough for me to go out and buy it.

regardless, it will debut at #1 next week

Sadly yes, i just listened and reviewed the deluxe version and it still doesent look promising

MOON MUSIC (DELUXE) REVIEW - Mellope

WARNING: I have already reviewed the original 'Moon Music,' and I am not reviewing the same thing again. I will only be judging the new tracks (including added remixes of original 'Moon Music' songs) which are on the album. My overview will be based on the added tracks. If you want the original tracks reviewed, please see my original post of the review. Thank you, only short references to my first review will be included.

OVERVIEW OF DELUXE TRACKS:

I first gave this album a 6, and after hearing this, it's still a 6 overall. Sadly, a lot of these "new" tracks lacked anything new (and I'm not just talking about the remixes, even the new songs). It felt like they just included the base of all the current songs and said, "Here's the same thing, but slightly different." After a couple of hours of listening to it, I didn’t even remember a single big difference between "WE PRAY" and the extra version. These extra tracks were either made out of "Oh no, we have to make a deluxe version" or "Let's pocket some extra cash." For goodness' sake, how many times did you even have to say the word "La?" It feels like I'm watching a kids' theatre song. The deluxe version lacks creativity, originality, and effort—it's all just mid. I'm not denying that there wasn’t emotion in their music, but let's just say this was more of a "Make it from the heart" album than using their heads to the best of their abilities. This time, I have no pull to try and keep you reading because I honestly have nothing else to massively add.

TRACK BY TRACK DELUXE REVIEW:

Deluxe 1 - Moon Music (Elodie) (6/10)

This song has the name of the original track 1 on the album (Moon Music). This was a few minutes' worth of light piano music which was actually decent. After hearing Coldplay for years on end, this doesn’t impress me or give me a feel anymore. It's someone who can play the piano well, and there's no singing. Honestly, there’s nothing really to this.

Deluxe 2 - Feelslikeimfallinginlive (6/10)

No, that's not a typo. For people who don't get it, "live" means "live show or live concert," and it's their song "Feelslikeimfallinginlove" being played live, so they named it that as a pun, I presume. To the actual song: it's the exact same song with clapping in it and a send-off outro at the end. I’ve got literally nothing to add to this, since I've already given my opinions on this song, so I'll move on.

Deluxe 3 - WE PRAY (Be Our Guest) (6/10)

Yeah, it's "WE PRAY" again. I don't even get the deluxe difference and, once again, have nothing to add.

Deluxe 4 - Angel Song (5/10)

What do you know? They have an original song called "Angel Song." Yeah, it's just a remix or a knock-off version—already reviewed that, SKIP.

Deluxe 5 - The Karate Kid (5/10)

Finally, something new. ? This one was interesting because I wasn’t expecting them to actually make a song on the movie The Karate Kid and even mention the main characters' names in the older versions of the movie. Now, I'm sitting here wondering why they made a song about some movie where a kid's trying to become a karate master. I presume it's because the movie is about overcoming fears and being the best, so they thought using it for a song would be a good idea. Either that, or they're just begging to get featured in a Karate Kid movie. Think of it as Coldplay’s usual: it sounds like something out of a heartfelt emotional movie scene. They used a soft tune and voice and made the lyrics represent that specific thing. I'm good at music reviewing, but it's hard to describe the same song over and over and over again. To be fair, I'm learning still and don't know every piece of vocabulary, but wow, this is like when there's dry food in your mouth and you can't chew it down enough to swallow it.

Deluxe 6 - Jupiter (Single Version) (6/10)

Another original song which has been regurgitated and put onto the deluxe version. Reviewed already—it’s the same thing. SKIP.

Deluxe 7 - Man in the Moon (5.5/10)

This actually had a noticeable difference (thank God for that). It sounded older, in a way that someone who made this probably wouldn’t have made it in 2024. It had little moments of repeat where the voice would play back in a separate tone. For the most part, it was a usual Coldplay track, only different because it was the only actual new song which had an uplifting beat and sounded a little different from the past songs.

Deluxe 8 - ? (5/10)

Yes, this track is literally just an emoji. This is probably because Coldplay says, "One day I'll see you again," stating they have to say goodbye (symbolizing the hand-waving symbol). What can I say about the track? Well, it's Coldplay’s traditional. The wave extended to become a held note, even though it was added in. It honestly just sounded whatever to me, then paired in with a soft beat with notable changes in-between.

Can't lie, this is the most boring review I have ever written. And apparently they will release again in 2025/26. ? If you have to push me for my best and worst, here it is:

BEST: It has to be a remix of one of the original songs, unfortunately. "Feelslikeimfallinginlive" will just take it.

WORST: Just chuck everything else in worse—they all sound the same. I've forgotten which track is which after a few minutes anyway.
