JOHNNY BURNETTE "hits and other favourites" 1962
another from my parents old vinyls....
teenybopper idol from the early 1960s who died tragically in a boating accident in the mid 1960s...
best remebered for the original versions of "only sixteen","dreamin'","the girl of my best friend" and "youre the reason"...
i actually thought ole Ringo did a great version of "only sixteen" in the early 1970s!
he also does "moody river", im not a big Pat Boone fan but i prefer his version of it, and "hello walls"...crap compared to Faron's version, but nonetheless, an important figure in early 1960s pop...his brother Dorsey was also a singer as was his son Rocky who had a couple of hits around 1980ish...
