I am just not that into female singers. Nothing against women (I am one) but most of them just don't do it for me. Here are some of the few that I like, in no particular order:

Janis Joplin
Nina Simone
Jewel (my like and dislike of her songs varies widely - love some, hate some)
Blondie
Stevie Nicks
Jane Monheit
Joss Stone ( Have you heard this girl sing Janis? WOW! )
Adele (just discovering)
Gracie Slick (she had her moments! not as many as I'd like but she had some great ones)
Ann Wilson (ditto comments on Gracie Slick)\
