Bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs passed away last Wednesday at the age of 88.

The Legendary and Talented Earl Scruggs
Fingers dancing swiftly strumming his banjo, you knew the distinct and distinguished sound of Earl Scruggs. Mr. Scruggs magnificently played the 5-string banjo. The flavors of his musical talents, Country and Bluegrass genres.
Born Earl Eugene Scruggs, January 6, 1924, in Shelby, North Carolina, Mr. Scruggs effectively help change Country music with his unique style, in collaboration with Mr. Bill Monroe (Bill Monroeâs Bluegrass Boys) in the 1940s. Mr. Scruggs also notably played alongside songwriter/guitarist, Lester Flatt. The two gifted musicians were known as Flatt and Scruggs.
The phenominal bluegrass pioneer, known for his talented three-finger banjo styles and for âThe Ballad of Jed Clampett,â from the 1960s TV show, The Beverly Hillbillies, which was notably a Country music hit, released (October 12, 1962), died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, from natural causes at the age of 88 in a Nashville, Tennessee hospital.
Earl Scruggs will be profoundly missed, but his masterly-brilliant banjo playing and music, will flow and echo within the hearts of many for years to come.
