yeah i see your point about a lot of the present younger generation seeing music as a throw away commodity in so much as you can now download very easily almost any music that you want. but at the same time I personally find the internet a very usefull tool in my music collecting activities because i can listen to so much more music and i can also research artists and records with the help of sites such as wikidpedia ,as a result of this my own digital collection of music in all genres from heavy metal to jazz and classical hasd filled up a 500gig hard drive in the last year or so I think its just brilliant to be able to hear and collect so much good music..

If you don't pay for something (a la filesharing sites ) does it have any value??? I don't know. Everyone is falling over themselves to stay 'trendy' and in the limelight. That seems to be more important than the work they actually produce. I also think it's a result of the emerging technologies & social networking sites as well. Or maybe I am just getting old....
