These folks wrench it up from the guts and put it all out there, sometimes painfully; Wilson Pickett sure qualifies but so does Lee Moses (understand, these were performers who had to get folks who had endured yet another week of grinding misery, to get outside themselves for an hour or so, to maybe share in another's pain and exhilarate on the dancefloor)--I'm not over-thinking this--I've been there.
