Is rap considered music?

You posted this on MB as well, and as everyone said, yes, rap is music. I find it strange how you ask such a question. There is a rhythm and beat isn't there? And as for the "yapping", its called rapping. And clearly you haven't listened to much of it. You also consider death metal more fruitful. Each to their own, but I find it really strange how you think rap isn't music, but consider death metal as music, and more fruitful at that. Death Metal has screaming and deep growling vocals. You care to explain the difference between rap and death metal, in terms of what you consider music?

When I was listening to Death Metal, when I was a teenager, the first thing I noticed was the death growls and I didn't like it at first. I consider it chaotic. I was about to throw the CD in the garbage until I listened to a guitar solo that changed my life. I never heard a guitar solo played like that before. I looped it many times and I got into death metal. I eventually got used to the chaos, and I noticed that the guitars, bass, drums, and sometimes the synths and piano are very busy. Which leads to my conclusion that death metal is music. In a sense, it's like listening to jazz and blues.

When it comes to rap, I have the same problem with electronica music, dance music, or I don't what it's called trance music or something (I don't know what it's called). I consider Eurobeats music, but the music that is coming out (music that I hear in the shopping malls), anything that is based on midi, there is a conflict on me, because personally I don't like it. It has a tone, but for some reason, it has no impact on me.
