Is rap considered music?

Any music goes ! If I like it, I like it! It's only music not warfare. Let's chill out and have some fun! I never slammed anyone's taste in music! To each his own. Music like all the other arts is subjective and personal! I have listened to a tremendous amount of music from all genres over the centuries and I have come to the conclusion that you have to educate yourself by allowing yourself to be exposed to different types of music! There is a tremendous trove of music sounds out there! I can listen to Louis Armstrong and then Miranda Lambert and then the progressive metal band Opeth all in the same session! I started out listening to The Beatles, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, then one day on a whim I purchased an album by the great legendary alto saxophone jazz Bird - Charlie Parker - Now's The Time...I guess in hindsight it was certainly "now's the time" to listen to other kinds of music!
