To Blanche_Minim: There are other meanings of rap, to which "rap music" adheres, none of which have violence attaching. "Art" can be downright despicable, and still be art. Outrage at a form or format is one thing; judging artistic merit quite another.
The original author of this piece wants us to slide down the slippery slope, to more eviscerate the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution that's already suffered more than its share of insults and constrictions. If a direct cause of a direct effect can be shown, that is prosecutable under current law without throwing the baby out with the bathwater. This piece shows vengeance, vigilante justice and hysteria--exactly as the Army-McCarthy hearings showed were grievously wrong. It attempts to solve a problem without first showing such problem exists.
