I feel that this thread would be easily solved if we establish what we could consider as "music", because, taking from what you guy's been saying, it looks like you only disagree because the concept of music is really different between your opinions. If you first establish what you understand for "music", then we would be able to discuss if in that concept we can fit rap, but only argue our personal opinions doesn't seem to take us anywhere. I mean, if you consider music is just sound, then what wouldn't be music?
Anyway, that's a great thread, and I personally respect rap a lot, and consider that, no doubts, a form of music. Also, please, read a little bit about the genre before submit your opinion., instead of only hearing on the radios and reading wikipedia's articles. Sorry for my poor english.
