St. Louis band with their second album. Not much info on them. There were some promising tracks but overall it was just sorta blah. How's that for a glowing review. It just didn't do much for me other than Highway.

To me, in terms of recognition, this has to be one of the most over rated bands of the 60's. Known because of one song having some supposedly controversial lyrics, which were not at all. They were indecipherable, therefore made up by some, which I'm sure the group and the record company loved. Talking about Louie Louie of course. In terms of this 5th album, mostly covers of whatever was popular for the day and there is nothing on here that comes close to Louie Louie. I don't think this album even charted.

Recovering nicely from her bruises in time to duke it out with Chris Brown on the charts. A victory well in hand with this 4th album for the Barbados model. I'm just hopin' there's not another Umbrella-ella-ella-ella on here in terms of airplay. That burnt me out pretty well. The album debuting at #4 on the U.S. charts with the first single of Russian Roulette, which I like, but nothing else strikes me here. Of course with a few thousand airplays you never know what might sink in.

Arkansas native hit the big time in the late 60's with his blend of country/pop. Started out as a session musician in L.A. where he played on numerous recordings of the popular artists of the early 60's. Toured with the Beach Boys for a spell and turned down an offer of a permanent position with the band. He could easily fit in either the pop or country category. I think this album fits better in pop but the crossovers were consistent. He has won grammys in both. He also hosted his own variety show on CBS for 3 seasons. The guy has over 70 albums in his belt and this was his 8th. It reached #1 on the U.S. country charts and #26 on the pop, with 2 singles of the title track and I Wanna Live which is my fav.

"Watertown" by Frank Sinatra...........................This album documents the breakdown of Frank's marriage to Mia Farrow..........It is a great listen and has something new in it each time you hear it. Frank is in his 60's form where his voice is mellow and his singing shows years of practice making it perfect. He is at a point in his life when he knows what life means and he can express it . He still shows the scares from his split with Ava Gardener......indeed there are echos of him still wanting her in this album....................Not the usual from Frank not what the casual listener might expect but, instead it is an off the wall oddity which makes it something of a cult classic.

Is this an LP or EP? I've seen it listed as both. Short for one, long for the other. Doesn't matter. Performance art. That's what she calls it. I just call it glam pop. This was intended to be a bonus to a re-release of the 2008 album The Fame. It has been released as that, but also as a stand alone. Hey, whatever it takes to rack up the sales figures. The first single of Bad Romance has already topped the charts in numerous countries, with the album being top 10. A stunning career ahead for this girl I think.
