Just one second, one error of judgment,one wrong word or action can totally change not only your life but also the lives of others around you....

There is no greater loss/sorrow/heartbreak than losing a child.....everything else pales in comparison.

The world is a vastly different place than it was twenty,thirty or even forty years ago and Govt has to adapt to meet terrorism front on....
Let them take away privacy,like the old adage says...."if you've got nothing to hide,you've got nothing to fear"...
Countless acts of domestic terror have been foiled by Govt's who have easesdropped os suspected terrorists...

One question....
What sort of world would you rather live in, one where spy agencies have their heads in the sand like an Ostrich and when something happens have them say "we didn't know that was going to happen"
Or a world where they make every effort possible to save the lives of their citizens????

I know which one I prefer.

In the greater scheme of things, one child's loss is an "insignificant blip". Period. Paragraph. Do you make this great a fuss about all the young'uns lost in trying to escape war zones? Or lost in genocidal campaigns like Srebrenica?

That adage "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear" is so much bushwa--privacy exists for it's own sake but is seen as devious by those who want to know everything about you. I strenuously resist that notion...and so pay cash for nearly everything. Here I am--come accuse me.
BTW a recent 674-page independendent review of the CIA's torture and black site prisons showed zero plots foiled. Wouldn't you think the US Intelligence community would trumpet at least one of their successes? Even letting it out by devious means? Thank Holy Mother Earth for Edward Snowden. The US and its policies have precisely zero to do with this simple human tragedy.

Even dolphins have the capacity to show empathy and compassion when they experience the death of one of their own – we are meant to be wired that way. The assumption that the voicing of sympathy, in this particular instance, precludes the same feelings for every single child, the world over, is utter, false nonsense. If we can’t find it within ourselves to mourn the passing of one, how can we possibly begin to mourn the many?

As a parent myself, my heart goes out to the parents and twin brother of that boy. I can only imagine their pain.

All those parents who lost children all agree that there is nothing worse in life than lowering that coffin onto the ground, it haunts them for years.
