Ooooo - and yet another that I'm reeaally looking forward to - Steve Rothery's planning to release a new album, Revontulet,  ... https://steverothery.com/.

He chooses unusual premises for his work - loved The Ghosts of Pripyat. Revontulet refers to auroras, whether north or south, or 'fox fires' as they are known in Finland ... https://www.visitfinland.com/article/rev.../#c888f519

two for me coming up in the near future:

[Image: 220px-Bob_Dylan_-_Rough_and_Rowdy_Ways.png]

BOB DYLAN "rough and rowdy ways"
his first album of original material in almost a decade
contains the three songs posted over the last month and a half

NEIL YOUNG  "homegrown"
recorded in the mid 1970s, shelved by Neil because he apparently wanted to
release "on the beach" instead.
he has somewhere between five and fifteen previously recorded but unreleased
albums in his archives, that doesn't mean theyre no good, but it does show how prolific
he has always been and how often his muse changes hourly.
its classic folky non-political Neil which is what we all like!

back to Deep Purple, a fond memory of my Grandfather back in the day:

1984, i go back to the UK for a trip for the first time since leaving as a child,
im staying with my Grandparents and they obviously have no contemporary music in their house so my Grandfather (God bless his soul) took me down to the local library to  borrow some cassettes using his library membership card.
i pick out a few and my Grandfather picks one for himself that says "deep purple" on it.
i ask him if he likes hard rock, he replies no, i proceed to inform him that Deep Purple is a hard rock group to which he laughs and thinks im pulling his leg.
he goes on to explain that this was one of his favourite back in the day so i just let it go.
we arrive back at his house and he proceeds to put the cassette in the player, turns it up and the music starts and Deep Purple gets turned off very quickly LOL!

here is the Deep Purple he was expecting to hear:

BTW

i did post the lead off single from the Deep Purple album back in March of this year, im thinking y'all missed it: https://www.music-discussion.com/showthr...eep+purple
