^^ I don't have much Madonna, but that is a very good album. William Orbit's involvement prolly had something to do with that.

I tend to stay away from Pop because most of its trash but i like Bruno Mars a lot great voice and songs that aren't just crappy dance beats

![]() CLASSIX NOUVEAUX "night people" 1981, vinyl. #66 UK, #85 Aust. not exactly the most well known UK 'new wave' band, so i was surprised to find all their albums available on cd at Amazon whilst searching for a cover picture. as the band came from the London underground punk scene in the late '70s it is no surprise that their sound incorporated heavier overtones than their fellow new-waver's like Japan,Ultravox,Spandau Ballet etc, several tracks here have angst in the vocals, obviously from their punk days, the album starts off bad for me with an instrumental track but does pick up from there until the ridiculously title "623" instrumental crops up like an unwanted ex-girlfriend at track #5! from there it all goes pear-shaped for me....as much of the early 1980s new wave does! I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track: foreward best track: guilty tracks: 1. foreward* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcTqCMo_Ybk video 2. guilty** #43 UK, #25 Aust. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nawiQi1kNoI video 3. no sympathy,no violins** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9xWdHVqbJg audio 4. inside-outside** #45 UK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAz3U0LHfH4 audio 5. 623* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URfJPBLqxQg live, poor quality! 6. every home should have one* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZDopqaq3Yw live, poor quality! 7. tokyo* #67 UK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlZftHxgwVA audio, w/- track #6 8. or a movie* 9. soldier** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFi25XTM5...997AEE3861 audio, above two tracks 10.the protector of the night* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqxWKd0cvdc audio 3s=0 2s=4 1s=6 rating: 1.4

![]() KATY PERRY "teenage dream" 2010, cd. #1 US,UK,Aust. ok, this one is a promotional copy my cd shop guy gave me and it contains one track short of the full album("peacock" is missing from my copy)....what? did you really think i'd buy a Katy Perry album? although i did like "i kissed a girl" and "waking up in Vegas" prior to this albums releases i really wasnt a fan of Ms.Perry....more a fence sitter waiting and listening. im not a fan of "auto-tune" but i guess thats the way music is progressing(or regressing)! but i gotta start going with the flow to keep up. This is a surprisingly good pop album, not dissimilar to the 'teenage girl' themes portraited by Madonna and Cyndi Lauper in the 1980s, its all about good times and feel good images. All the tracks on this one get "like" ratings bar "firework" because there is just too much auto-tune involved. the three best tracks here are tracks 8,9, and 11, they are slower tracks whereby Katy actually gets to put some feeling into her lyrics, thus showing a hint of musical maturity, she appears to be a consistant performer, not bad but neither is she great...yet. ive got a feeling that once she starts maturing as an artist that she will have a long and successful career, much like Madonna, who took several albums before she really gained universal respect as an artist, and like early Madonna, Katy has the looks, the moves and the talent to succeed in the long term. ![]() Since Crazy man has been listening to some '80s Electropop, thought I'd give this a spin. 1982 debut from one hit wonder (Living on The Ceiling) duo Neil Arthur, & Stephen Luscombe. Arthur's vocals are eerily close to David Byrne at times, and their material is considerably more sophisticated than many of their peers, whilst their synth sounds were much "drier" - ie not lush - than was commonplace. The CD is also packed with 12 inch mix bonus tracks. Hardly essential, but enjoyable nonetheless. AllMusic 4/5 stars.
