third time lucky?...tried to post this twice today, and twice it has been lost in cyberspace!
nice sounds of 1960s "girl pop" here ala Dusty Springfield/Shirelles
three covers here,and all three i dont like..covers are "you really got a hold on me", "i shouldve known better" and "swing low sweet chariot".
apart from that, the only thing i dont like about it is that the album is that it takes until around the halfway mark to really heat up and had i not been recommended this album by either MH or his son-in-law a may just have switched off after the first few tracks without realising that it is a good album.
so, four love tracks on here,and these are the ones with links provided.
best track here is "got me"

got it marked down in price,paid for it..................then paid for it, by listening to it last night!
what a load of crap!
"auto-tuned" to the max bollocksy pop...could only stomach two and a half tracks before i walked out outside for a cigarette, and didnt return inside till it had finished,although i still heard it outside!
best thing about it is the cover....absolutely love the cover picture, but what lies within.....vomit!
cannot rate this one, but have no intention of ever hearing it again....on a rating mark, this one probably equals a flatlined 1.0 but the cover would probably lift the score to 1.2.....

one lingering question remains.....

glad this one finally worked its way onto my player, havent played it in a long while and was keen to see how it would fare after several years....and im not disapointed!
love the big beats,samples,loops....love everything about it infact!
not the usual style of music i "dig", but Norman Cook has something irresistable in the sounds he makes that draws me in...guess this was highly unique at the time, now, everyone who wants to be called a "dj" tries to do it...but nowhere near as good as this album IMO.
bits of hip hop,soul,reggae,pop,dance all rolled into one on this eclectic mix of sounds.
great effort from a geeky bass player in one of the UK's best but shortlived pop bands from the 1980s in The Housemartins and later Beats International....probably as far from The Housematins as Gorillaz is from Blur IMO.
this album hit #1 in UK/Aust, but only reached a poor #34 in the US,best showing single in the US was "praise you" reaching #36, whereas the same song reached #1 both here and in the UK, two other top 10 hits here in Australia in tracks 1+2, also three other top ten hits in the UK with tracks 1,2+4.

Hold on, I gotta get this syrup out of my ears.......... Alright then, Kenny's 15th album, and more of the mush he
became. Some good songs as usual, but nothing great, with two duds. Kim Carnes on backing vocals, but no duets with
her here. Would not no she's there, if not for the liner notes. Reached #163 on the pop chart, and #18 on the
country which I couldn't find. Three singles making the top 10 for those modern country folk (Make No Mistake.
She's Mine #1, I Prefer The Moonlight #2, The Factory #6. Obviously I don't know country. Mt favorite of I Don't
Call Him Daddy was also a single but didn't fare well/ That first single was a duet with Ronnie Milsap and got them
a grammy for best country collaboration. Had to be some weak competition. This was Kenny's last release for RCA.
