CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:now thats my kinda album! I grew up on The Who. A great band and one of the few authentic rock bands. There was no polishing things up with them. It was real raw rock music. Went to Brighton some years ago and walked into this pub where they had posters of The Who plastered all over the ceiling. By the time I left it was not only the ceiling that was plastered. Had a great time in that establishment. Cannot for the life of me remember the name - aahh those were the days.......

Music Head Wrote:Counting Crows - August And Everything After Ditto on that one - brilliant album. 'Perfect Blue Building' & 'Omaha' are my favourites. Obviously 'Round Here' as well.

Mods tended to follow Who,Small Faces,Kinks,Spencer Davis Group,Manfred Mann to name a few along with Georgie Fame,Dave Bruebeck and the US soul singers of the day.. it all fell to pieces until Paul Weller revived the whole Mod thing whilst in The Jam,of more recent times Ocean Colour Scene have kept the Mod flag burning, especially with their album Moseley Shoals, should be coming out in my playlist fairly shortly, but feel free to check it out yourself prior to it being posted on the site. ocean colour scene "riverboat song" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdnJbN5KEUg audio ocean colour scene "the day we caught the train" Ocean Colour Scene - The Day We Caught The Train - YouTube live

![]() LED ZEPPLIN "four symbols" aka "IV" great example of both simple blues rock and complicated guitar work on acoustic numbers like Stairway To Heaven and Battle Of Evermore....almost a perfect record IMO!

CRAZY-HORSE Wrote: Was trawling through the CD section at the local HMV and heard some Led Zep playing on the stores system - never heard it before and it sounded amazing - must have been some early years material. Anyone know if they have released material from their young days??? Definitely worth investigating....
