Not sure where I picked this one up, but I should have put it back down. Mid 70's era soft rock, Seals & Crofts come to mind. Nothing on them and no liner notes. Lucky to find a pic (sorry about the size), and there's even a live clip for my favorite track. Looks like 2 guys, Ian Curnow and Paul Lewis. Someone must have told them they could write and sing. Four tracks that were listenable, six that were not. Had to have got this from a used bin somewhere. There was a time when I would just make these cheap random picks for a surprise. Sometimes it worked out, usually not. That was back when I had money to burn. Then I got married and my money started coming to me pre-burnt. Always strings attached. Don't see any other releases by these guys so I guess they went back to their day job. I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Lady Fame Best Track - Our Love 1) Parisian Cafe Blue ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEfBiqaRZIg 2) Telephone Song * 3) Our Love ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2MYpLPQpfg 4) So Here I Stay * 5) Me, I'm Pretending * 6) Platform 9 * 7) Lady Fame * 8) Smile ** 9) Magical * 10) Other Girls Don't Feel The Way You Do ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29sz1v-6kYA 3's - 0 2's - 4 1's - 6 Grade - 1.4 so many albums, so little time

Journey Into Paradise: The Larry Levan Story
I could just as easily put thi in the electronic section, but nah. These grooves hit deep, and I mean DEEP. From the very first second, this ingenius collection of remixes got my body moving like no one's buisness. I love house and techno music (tends to surprise a lot of people when I tell them for some reason), and this is easily some of the best, up there with the likes of Joey Beltram and Cyrus

![]() THE POLICE "greatest hits" cd, 1992. before the term "indi" was invented these guys were called "pop" so thats where they go! these guys never made a bad album IMO, and their singles were always very good to brilliant, shame Sting became a pretentious bastard when he went solo... not putting up links for these songs as well, we all know them so its pointless doing so... only bought this one to hear them in my car as all their studio albums are on vinyl in my collection. only one real fault with The Police IMO...stupid album titles and that stupid song title "de do do do de da da da"...what the hell is it with that???? all up though...one of the most consistant singles bands in the history of music...and they still sound fresh and exciting today! I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: so lonely best track: every breathe you take tracks: 1. roxanne *** 2. cant stand losing you *** 3. message in a bottle *** 4. so lonely ** 5. walking on the moon *** 6. the bed's too big without you ** 7. dont stand so close to me *** 8. de do do do de da da da *** 9. every little thing she does is magic *** 10.invisible sun ** 11.spirits in the material world ** 12.syncronicity II *** 13.every breathe you take *** 14.king of pain *** 15.wrapped around your finger ** 16.tea in the sahara *** 3s=11 2s=5 1s=0 rating: 2.7

![]() A double album best of, before their biggest hit. That would come two years later with Springsteens Fire. Not really that many hits on here, so two albums was a stretch. Only 17 tracks of which I can see that six charted, the highest being Yes We Can Can at #11. But it is a Best Of and not a Greatest Hits, so there is that distinction. How do you begin to describe the Pointer Sisters style of music. While listening to this, these words came to mind, pop/soul/jazz/funk/scat/country/dixieland/ragtime/blues/swing. Is there a genre for that? Pick a song and you'll here something different here. Though their greatest fame would come later, this is a good summation of the early material. Starts off with their current hit at the time, pulled from the Car Wash soundtrack, You Gotta Believe. Best for me is the very country Fairytale. Two of the five love tracks for me. Four get the bottom score with Salt Peanuts leading that list. Not that popular at the time, the album only made it to #164. With all of that variation, you're sure to find something you like on here. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Salt Peanuts Best Track - Fairytale I'll pack up all my things and walk away I don't want to hear another word you have to say I've been waiting for so long, (so long) I just found out there's something wrong, (something is wrong) nothing will get better if I stay There's no need to explain anymore I tried my best to love you, now I'm walkin' out the door (walking out the door) You used me, you've deceived me, (what you trying to do to me?) and you never seem to need me but I'll bet, you won't forget me when I go (Oh no, no, no) Seems I've been lost in a dream, pretending that you care and now I've opened up my eyes, and found it's all been just a great big fairytale I've been lovin' you so long, (my love's so strong) don't think I'll even know how to forget you (I can't forget you) but now the way that things have been, I think I'm better off alone, than to be with you You don't love me it's plain to see You played around, you broke my heart, told me we would never part, but that wasn't true, so what else can I do but move on ? I've been loving you so long, (my love's so strong) don't think I'll even know how to forget you (I can't forget you) but now the ways that things have been, I think I'm better of alone, than to be with you You don't love me it's plain to see There's no need to explain anymore I tried my best to love you, now I'm walkin' out the door (walking out the door) ahh, you used me, you've deceived me, (what you trying to do to me?) and you never seem to need me But I'll bet you won't forget me when I go (Oh no, no, no) Seems I've been lost in a dream, pretending you were mine someday you'll open up your eyes and realize that a good woman's hard to find Yes I've been lost in a dream pretending that you care and now I've opened up my eyes and found it's all been just a great big fairytale (I'll move on) move on...got to move on move on...got to move on move on...got to move on move on Hit it Nellie I've got to move on 1) You Gotta Believe *** video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQyv_1Qoqco 2) Black Coffee *** 3) Wang Dang Doodle ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ryh5hVC1iE 4) Salt Peanuts * live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPMpL9UB7eg 5) Steam Heat ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9FtbmbFke4 6) Cloudburst * live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Yl7iWSc6hE 7) Easy Days ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r9MX5eb2Bo 8) Jada ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfetL8iTM-w 9) That's A Plenty * 10) Little Pony ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu5uArMlVww 11) Sugar ** 12) Yes We Can Can *** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Db-uqKLH-Bw 13) Sleeping Alone * 14) Fairytale *** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcpB11BNpDs 15) Shaky Flat *** 16) Going Down Slowly ** 17) How Long ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fmatr8RdJwE 3's - 5 2's - 8 1's - 4 Grade - 2.1 so many albums, so little time

![]() FLORENCE & THE MACHINE "lungs" cd,2010. i dunno...they call Florence "alternative"???, i dont, i call her "pop",,whatever...its bloody good! i got this one within a week of first hearing the track "dog days are over" on the radio as a new release....that song had sonething about it, not sure what it was though, could have been the brooding lyrics, the the ethereal at times vocals, the great hard hitting chorus beats...or maybe a combination of all the above...not sure, but it struck a chord with me and i wasnt dissapointed with anything on here. right from the opening track (dog days..) through to the end of the final track "youve got the love", which is Dani's favourite one on here by the way... it has qualities that few albums manage to achieve fully, the last artist to do that for me is/was Adele, and like Adele's "21" and to a lesser extent "19", this one will go down as one of the great albums of this decade(along with her latest "ceremonials" album)... the songs are emotive, sometimes hard hitting in their subject matter, the beats are superb,as is the overall production, and Florence's vocals ebb and flow through deep soft tones through to strong powerful sometimes angst ridden cries...this is how i imagine someone like Kate Bush might sound if she was doing these songs... all up a very very fine album of modern pop without the bullsh#t pretentiousness that seems to encapsulates modern modern music! I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: blinding best track: kiss with a fist tracks: 1. dog days are over *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrYnggjTJfk&ob=av2n live 2. rabbit heart *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHNGW1F63mM live 3. im not calling you a liar *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4iseF_FBn8 audio 4. howl ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SLoOzTMjC8&ob=av2n live 5. kiss with a fist *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNOLZtJGoNk live 6. girl with one eye *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI04um2LDp8&ob=av2n live 7. drumming song ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAYbVkSVKZY live 8. between two lungs ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MIPmTe2pSo live 9. cosmic love ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gMq3hRLDD0 live 10.my boy builds coffins ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAs0xcSKvqs audio 11.hurricane drunk ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFXOUmNW_aY live 12.blinding ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Da6bBKLPEGg audio 13.youve got the love *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwkT5HAwf_E live 3s=6 2s=7 1s=0 rating: 2.4
