first album bought for me was an Elvis Presley compilation called "easy come, easy go"...got it back in the early 1970s,that was followed by a double album around the same time called "Elvis' 40 greatest hits"
the first single i ever bought was, from memory, "grease" by Frankie Valli, first album i actually bought with my pocket money/allowance would also have been an Elvis Presley album...probably one of those budget ones released after his death in 1977.

The first record I ever received, on vinyl, my dad gave me. He took it out of his collection. It was George Harrison's " All Things Must Pass" .
But, the first CD I bought with my own money was Jason Mraz's " Waiting for My Rocket to Come".

Alvin & the Chipmunks - Can't remember the title anymore. Something about 'Christmas Time'. A present from my Dad when I was but a wee lad.
