this double album contains 40 of their hits down under, probably close to that elsewhere also...
album was released to coincide with the 50th anniversary of their first tv performance here in australia in 1959...
i cannot knock these guys even when they made some real stupid disco type stuff in the 1970s...
i mean i love the "stayin alive" track but when you see the video of them in their skintight pants,bleached white teeth,bling around their necks and that horrid wavy 1970s hair and theyre singing "you can tell by the way i walk-im a ladies man!" in falsetto, that is really cringworthy stuff IMO...
right from their formative years of "spicks and speck" through "jive talkin" and up past "one and "alone", these guys had what most others wish they had....ie: endless talent in all departments!
also, it shows the strength,depth of quality andclass of these guys when an album spanning forty years of singles and forty tracks still gets a love score, not many artists could do that and still have their latter material stand up superbly against their early so-called classic era.
