Another way to look at suicide is all the celebs who had a problem with drugs and alcohol. Many. Some may have escaped death if they had not let drugs and alcohol get control of them.

Sister RebelGirl brings up the Great Puzzlement: Would they be great artists if they didn't have the demons chasing them (that song "Hellhound on My Trail" isn't just a figure of speech) AND can they themselves have controlled said demons without blanding themselves out to the point they couldn't create greatness? No clue as to the answer but I've seen shades of opinion by qualified folks that were all over the map. Maybe there are questions with no firm, one-size-fits-all answers...
BTW I am not at all saying that to be at the highest pinnacle of art, you have to be wack--there's plenty that aren't...and plenty in non-artistic endeavors that are.

on the radio today they told a story of Robin back from 2004...

a young girl with cancer in NY made one of those "make a wish" wishes and wanted to meet he movie idol Williams...
Williams agreed and the young girl and her family were due to fly to California to meet him for the day...
the day before they were due to fly, the girl got really sick and was not able to fly, they advised the people who organised the 'wish' for her and thought nothing of it...
anyway, the next morning Robin knocked on their door, he had 100 dvds and games for the young girl...
he played with her all day and flew back to California that night...
a week or so later the girl died, Robin Williams flew out to attend the funeral and paid the funeral costs for the family...

that is,IMO, one of the saddest, yet uplifting stories i have heard in a long long time....cudo's to Robin Williams and his charitable personality!!!! 10/10 Robin, you made that young girl's dream come true and probably made her last few days exciting and enthralling.

What's really terrible to me (and a damning indictment of online society) is the way Mr. Williams' daughter Zelda has been treated--the volume and nastiness expressed forced her to essentially close down her online life (Twitter, etc.). There are some absolutely unrestrained, sick, twisted folks out there, and it seems to be getting worse. I'm all about giving a platform to the voiceless, but this sure shows the dark side of that unfiltered aspect.

What a wonderful story of Robin's charity and love for the children who were terminally sick!!

im a bit ignorant of the online things jazzy...
but they call them "trolls" dont they?
their prime objective is to upset people by using insightful and hurtful words.

CLOO has a Mork & Mindy marathon on today  It's great watching Mork & Mindy again!! There was a episode about Christmas awhile ago. Made me cry because Mork had made presents to find out no one liked them as he was coming down the stairs. Sad!! But he fixed things and gave them all a cherised thought. He was so great in that series!!
