NO, don't believe me; don't believe her duet partner, Tony Bennett--believe your own ears. They put out an album today and it just kills. ââ¬â¹Here are some VEVO-enabled selections (so a long ad first):

Mr. Bennett has a long, distinguished history of duets, sometimes with unexpected partners. He's done it again...and she's doing it now. BTW, he looks and sounds pretty good for being in his mid-80's, wouldn't you say?

She does a great job with Tony! I knew she could do it! Amy was good with him also! Yes Tony looks great and in fine form for his eighties. He still has that unmistakable voice, must be the style of music he sings.A very talented lady is Stefani aka Lady GaGa...she really hasn't found her niche yet...so versatile,,,,maybe and hopefully she won't find her niche and travel to different genres...country, blues, hard rock, metal ,,,who knows! I love the GaGa!
The Hammond organ intro on I Can't Give You Anything But Love was dynamite!!!!...thanks again Jazzbo !

I appreciate the compliment, SteveO. I say in all sincerity that I couldn't not share this.

never expected that career move. If you had asked me, a year ago, to predict which pop superstar would release a jazz album, I might have guessed Adele or John Legend, or perhaps Beyoncé. Even Pharrell would have seemed a more likely choice. (Am I the only person who thinks that âHappyâ has a jazzy, Les McCann-ish beat?)

I always love a good Lady GaGa comment...this really didn't surprise me though, I was actually totally pumped to hear that she was gonna finally showcase her voice rather than her outfits and antics, but I Ywill say she killed it even more than I expected (You wanna surprise me, tell me Katy Perry is gonna sing a duet with Barbara Streisand and I will fall off my chair)...Case and point...

After I heard this song, I new that nothing would surprise me about her anymore...NOTHING!!! (You wanna surprise me, tell me Katy Perry is gonna sing a duet with Barbara Streisand and I will fall off my chair!)

Lady GaGa and her management team have been superb in guiding her career. It is to be sincerely hoped that having made a name, she can drop the artifice and give us that superior voice delivering the gooods for the ages. Rod Stewart did what was right to make a name and a career with no apologies, and is now doing what's right for this stage. It's no stretch to think Lady GaGa is doing the same.

She sure has converted a lot of folks. I hear that Mr. Bennett was an easy sell--a brief hearing of her natural voice up close and personal, some convo and it was on.

Lady Gaga seems to do her own thing a lot of the time. I doubt she'll ever stick to one genre, which I'm happy with. She's a very talented singer.
