Mine would have to be, Guilbert & Sullivan compositions. I find their music easy to listen to, and usually jolly. My sort of thing.
What is yours?

I like Gilbert & Sullivan too, though they're actually more operettas than operas, I think. I played Cousin Hebe in HMS Pinafore in the 8th Grade, which was really fun. As for my favorite opera, it would be Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) by Mozart.

I LOVE the HMS Pinafore! But as for my favorite musical I'll have to go with the first one I ever heard: Beethoven's Fidelio.

Favourite - La Boheme by Puccini....
...but I love the challenge of Wagner's Ring Cycle

traightface:. I don't know it well yet, but it's a life ambition of mine to get familiar with it :o_O:.
I'd go with Puccini as well, but I'd pick Turandot. It gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it, especially when Pavarotti played Kalaf. Paul Potts can pack up and go home.

Probably The Magic Flute...other favourites include Monteverdi's L'Orfeo, The Marriage of Figaro and Purcell's Dido & Aeneas. I also plan to immerse myself in the works of Wagner at some point...at the moment I only have a highlights set, but I'll try to get the full Ring cycle at some point.

Mine should most definitely be La Traviata and the Tosca

Queen's Night At The Opera is about as close as I get to that genre.

Richard Wagner's unforgettable The Ring of the Nibelung. Sung in German but it doesn't matter to me...I guess I just like sounds!
