5. Conference Premier (24 teams)
6. Conference North and Conference South (22 teams each, in parallel)
7. Northern Premier League Premier Division, Southern Football League Premier Division and Isthmian League Premier Division (level 7, 24 teams each, in parallel)
8. Northern Premier League Division One North, Northern Premier League Division One South, Southern Football League Division One Central, Southern Football League Division One South & West, Isthmian League Division One North and Isthmian League Division One South
(22 teams in each of the Northern Premier League and Southern Football League, and 24 teams in each Isthmian League)

Some recent-ish news:
Saturday 15th November 2014: England beat Slovenia at Wembley 3 - 1, in a European Championship qualifier (Group E).
Tuesday 18th November: England beat the old enemy Scotland 1 - 3, in an 'international friendly' match.
Despite wining both matches, England have yet to be convincing and one cannot help feeling that, against stronger sides, they would be struggling. Slovenia are not a bad side but were a long way from home and Scotland were still recovering from an important win over the Republic of Ireland (European Championship Group D).
The next England match is at home against Lithuania on Friday 27th March 2015, in a European Championship qualifier.
Southampton's next Premier League match is away to Aston Villa on Monday 24th November, followed by a home game against Manchester City on Sunday 30th November. They face Arsenal at Highbury on 3rd December, so they have some tricky matches. If they win, they will threaten Chelsea's position at the top of the league.

England were impressive in a 2-0 win over Switzerland away in the Euro qualifiers.

I didn't see the Switzerland match. Everyone is expecting Chelsea to stay at the top because they have few weaknesses and are a big club.
Saints had four England players last season, all were poached by big clubs (including three to Liverpool). Already they have a new batch and, this time, Liverpool is after Nathaniel Clyne.

What a shame that one time stalwart top level clubs like Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest, and Leeds United are wallowing in the Championship League!
