I've said a few times that I'm very much over Adele. However let me be the first to congratulate her and thank her for beating bloody Beyonce.

Adele, whatever else you may say about her, is a genuine singer who sings real songs, apparently without requiring Autotune. That alone puts her above nearly everyone else who troubles the music charts these days.

Oh, and congratulations to Flume, although I confess I really have little idea what his music actually sounds like.

No surprises with David Bowie scoring, though it's interesting to speculate whether he would have won in those categories had he not died. I would have voted for the Radiohead album. Burn the Witch, which was nominated for best rock song, is by no means the best track on the album.

im with you bob_32, totally over Adele, her album "25" was abysmal IMO, that said, I did love "21" and "25",
but she is a REAL singer and can do it live so i'd rather her win than, and I quote you, "bloody Beyoncé"!

yep, no surprise with Mr Bowie taking out five gongs for his album, I would have expected him to win "best video" for Lazarus though, a haunting brilliant piece of work.
im not taking anything away from him but "blackstar" was very average by his standards, his previous effort "the next day" was a far superior album IMO...

always good to see some "homegrown" talent get nominated, let alone win anything, so congrats to Flume.

in the best album category, I really wish Sturgill Simpson took that one out, but at least he took out "best country album" with his album.
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..."  -  Me 2014.

To me, the best thing about the Grammy award show is Alison Krauss remaining with more Grammy awards than any other singer in music history.

God bless you and her always!!!

Holly (a fan of Alison since 1994)

P.S. She is just four behind the person with the most and that is late conductor Georg Solti. May her new album named Windy City, released this Friday, add to her current total of 27 at next year's show!
Listen to my most favorite singer here sometime, James Otto that is!

Only category I cared about was "Best Folk Album" because "Silver Skies Blue" by Judy Collins and Ari Hest was nominated. I've been a huge fan of Hest since 2004 and this was his first taste of legit mainstream success. Was hoping being paired with a living legend like Collins would have made them the frontrunners, but of course like all things I like musically; they lost. Sad

I suffered a moment of panic when I saw the words "Human Nature" in the list, thinking it referred to the Australian outfit. I refuse to call them a "band".
Fortunately, it seems it refers to the title of an album by Herb Alpert. Whew.

Who won? I don't see the folk category in the listing.

Edit: It's OK, I found the site with the full listing. I've never heard of any of the entrants in that category, except for Judy Collins.

Adele made a mistake during her tribute to George Michael. I do like her music fairly well though.

Anyway, I just watched a couple of the music performances and that was about it.

I think her pitch went off for a moment while she was singing the song, Fastlove and she decided to restart the performance. She recovered from it quickly though.
