1. The Beatles winning "best rock performance"
2. Kendrick Lamar getting the love he deserves
3. Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish winning nothing. (I don't like taking joy in others sadness, but there wasn't many good grammy moments so I just decided to include the fact that I didn't like there albums; I'm glad they didn't get overhyped.)
1: Beatles winning "best rock performance" for a for a whiney little throw away piano ballad that John didnt finish when he was alive probably means he didnt think much to it.
it wasnt even a rock song.
and i can totally agree that George Harrison thought it was crap.
that said, the video for it was a superb work of art IMO
2: i never cared for Kendrick but there are times where is quite clever in what he does musically.
3: to me Billie's latest album was good but definitely the weakest of the three she has released.
Taylor's album is my favorite of hers followed by "evermore" and "folklore".
i think the only overhyped artist/album was that so-called country album by Beyonce
4: i also see that Sean Ono Lennon received a Grammy for "best box set" for the mega deluxe 'cube' box set of John's "mind games" 50th anniversary album, which lets face it, was a below par album when it was released. funny how death and time changes peoples perspectives on music because people now think it is a great album.
5: i agree that there werent too many "good grammy moments" (as you put it Melope)...
the highlight for me was The Rolling Stones winning for "best rock album", that was well deserved, "hackney diamonds" was a solid rock album, their best since 1980's "tattoo you" IMO
