Grammy nominations
#1
i see that Rolling Stones have been nominated for "best rock album" with Hackney Diamonds

also Beatles are nominated for "best music video" for the brilliant video for the less than impressive "now and then" song.

judging from the other nominations in both categories i hope both win.

Alison Krauss & Union Station are releasing a new album at the end of next month. Therefore, may they be back upon that Grammy award winning stage where they belong next year!!! Smile Smile Smile

God bless you and AKUS always!!!

The top three best grammy moments:

1. The Beatles winning "best rock performance"

2. Kendrick Lamar getting the love he deserves

3. Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish winning nothing. (I don't like taking joy in others sadness, but there wasn't many good grammy moments so I just decided to include the fact that I didn't like there albums; I'm glad they didn't get overhyped.)

I didn't watch the whole show because at the end of the day, we may as well be watching a circus production instead of a music program whenever Grammy time rolls around.

To me, the most important part of the show this year was when everyone that we have lost during the last twelve months were shown. Kris Kristofferson was at the beginning, Joe Bonsall of the Oak Ridge Boys was somewhere in the middle and the very last person shown was Toby Keith. Sad Sad Sad

God bless you and each of the impacted families always!!!

Holly (a girl who forever misses Toby)

P.S. Tomorrow, it will be a year since we had to let go of Toby. Sad Sad Sad

1:   Beatles winning "best rock performance" for a for a whiney little throw away piano ballad that John didnt finish when he was alive probably means he didnt think much to it.
it wasnt even a rock song.
and i can totally agree that George Harrison thought it was crap.
that said, the video for it was a superb work of art IMO

2:  i never cared for Kendrick but there are times where is quite clever in what he does musically.

3:  to me Billie's latest album was good but definitely the weakest of the three she has released.
Taylor's album is my favorite of hers followed by "evermore" and "folklore".
i think the only overhyped artist/album was that so-called country album by Beyonce

4:  i also see that Sean Ono Lennon received a Grammy for "best box set" for the mega deluxe 'cube' box set of John's "mind games" 50th anniversary album, which lets face it, was a below par album when it was released. funny how death and time changes peoples perspectives on music because people now think it is a great album.

5:  i agree that there werent too many "good grammy moments" (as you put it Melope)...
the highlight for me was The Rolling Stones winning for "best rock album", that was well deserved, "hackney diamonds" was a solid rock album, their best since 1980's "tattoo you" IMO

The Grammy's are a waste of time. Very little decent music and it has become totally over-hyped. Why are people getting rewarded for producing bland, formulaic crap? The awards are all ass and no class.

it says a lot when artists in their 80s (Stones/Beatles) can win "best rock" awards, WTF is wrong with the industry

and how the hell does Beyonce have 99 Grammy nominations and over 30 wins. ?
