Recommend more noise rock/shoegaze bands
#1
I finally got the chance to listen to the debut self titled album by Yuck, the five member indie rock band based in London. I really like this new band and look forward to future albums by them.

I noticed on wiki that their genres are noise rock and shoegaze. Could the kind MD members recommend some other bands that are of these genres?

Some of the original "Shoegaze" bands would include Ride, Curve, Chapterhouse, & My Bloody Valentine. Have a listen to some of those...

I don't really know much about shoe gaze, but if you're looking for noise rock, Les Rallizes Denudes is definitely the best place to go

Shoegaze: Slowdive (a classic you forgot to mention, Tiggi), Shiva Affect, Pale Saints, Medicine, Have a Nice Life, Mazzy Star (a little more dream pop-ish), Speck Mountain, Bailter Space, Loop, Bowery Electric, Amusement Parks on Fire, Hartfield, Lovesliescrushing.

Noise Rock: Bordedoms, Christine 23 Onna, Oxbow, The Gerogerigegege, Bodychoke, Melt-Banana, Wolf Eyes, OOIOO, Nisennenmondai.

You might wanna look into the shitgaze genre too. I'd recommend Times New Viking, Psychedelic Horseshit or Blank Dogs.

Mazzy Star are fantastic if you want some late night listening - very introspective, laid-back music with a hint of the (dare I say it) erotic. Try Hope Sandoval's 'Through The Devil Softly' as well.
